Hi there! I’m Leah, and I have a confession to make — I’m completely obsessed with throwing parties.

You know that moment when guests walk through the front door and audibly gasp? When someone says “Wait — YOU made this?” When the photos look so good, friends ask if you hired a professional?

Yeah. I live for those moments.

My Story

There was a before and an after. The dividing line was a baby shower in my living room — where my sister built something out of $12 worth of balloons that made every single guest walk through the front door and audibly gasp.

Before that day, I thought balloon arches were one of those things you hired professionals to install — like a chandelier or a tattoo. Something that required specialized equipment, years of experience, and a minimum charge of $200 that made you quietly decide that plain balloons taped to the wall were perfectly fine, thank you very much.

Then I watched my sister spend forty-five minutes in the corner of my living room with a bag of balloons, a plastic strip, a hand pump, and a roll of glue dots — and produce something that looked like it belonged in the window of a high-end event design studio.

That moment changed everything for me.

Why I Started Party & Beyond

Let me be honest with you.

I got tired of party planning advice that assumed everyone had a $500 budget and a Pinterest-perfect home. “Just hire a balloon artist!” “Order custom backdrops!” “Rent a marquee!” Really? That’s the best advice for someone throwing a kid’s birthday party next Saturday?

Party & Beyond was born from frustration — and a whole lot of trial and error.

Here, you won’t find generic suggestions that require professional help. Every party idea I share comes with:

🎈 Inflating balloons (still) — I now own three different hand pumps and have opinions about each one

📐 Measuring weird things “just in case” — like the height of my ceiling at every angle, because backdrops require math

🎨 Photographing every detail — partly for the blog, partly because I genuinely cannot stop

🐕 Petting my dog while pretending to brainstorm — he’s officially the Chief Inspiration Officer of Party & Beyond
